Esmeris range from Fandis includes a complete line of axial frame fans (and few centrifugal models), designed for applications where it is necessary to move air flows, with large or small flow rates, in reduced spaces.
How does an axial fan work?
The operating principle of an axial fan is very simple: through the rotation of oriented blades, a pressure difference is produced between the air inlet and outlet. This pressure is proportional to the number of blades, their shape and the speed of rotation, while the air flow remains parallel to the direction of the shaft.
They are mainly used in refrigeration, in electrical panels for automation and telecommunications, in medical equipment, in the food and automobile industries, and in computers.
How to choose a frame fan?
For correct sizing, Fandis provides the flow rate/pressure curve expressed in m³/h and Pa, as required by the International System. The device in which the fan is inserted must, in fact, provide an air path capable of promoting heat exchange on the interested parts by introducing pressure drops, in turn proportional to the flow rate. The interpolation between the flow rate/pressure curve of the fan and the pressure drops provides the working point of the system.
Once the need for aeraulic flow rate, power supply, connections and dimensions for the final application has been identified, the range is diversified by type of supports: with ball bearings, bushings or hypro technology, working temperatures and IP protection degree.
The Esmeris standard range
The Esmeris product line (Costech and NMB) covers dimensions from 40x40x10 mm to 280x280x80 mm, with electronically switched (DC or EC) or asynchronous AC single-phase drives with capacitor or shielded poles, or three-phase for the higher power models. For the electrical connection, models with 3 mm terminals, terminal block with free cables of 300 mm or customizable on request are available.
Finally, there are fans with fixed or controllable speed with PWM signal and tacho feedback. The former are used in applications with continuous operation and not affected by transient phenomena, generally activated by a thermostat or always active. For these, it is sufficient to identify the optimal working point and adopt the fan with the closest speed. The fans with adjustable speed, on the other hand, have a PWM or 0…10V proportional control input and allow the power to be scaled according to the real heat exchange requirement, optimizing energy consumption and eliminating noise during stand-by or low load.
EC fans
EC (electronically commutated) technology makes it possible to integrate a DC (direct current) motor on AC (alternating current) fans via an integrated PCB. The result is an extremely silent and high-performance device, which allows a very precise adjustment of the speed, but guaranteeing considerable energy savings.
Special frame fans
Alongside the various standard solutions, Fandis also offers special frame fans capable of operating in hostile environmental conditions. Specifically, these are IP55 fans, developed to withstand very fine dust or water splashes, fans for high temperatures, which can be installed near heat sources, tolerating temperatures up to 90°C, and all metal fans, whose particular metal structure makes them resistant to corrosion. These special solutions offer safety and reliability, which can extend the life of the components electrical panels inside an electrical panel.
