Electrical insulation class is among the technical characteristics attributable to an electrical device to limit the risk of electric shock following a fault. They are defined by the International Electrotechnical Commission.
This feature is fundamental when dealing with electrical panels, such as Fandis, in order to allow those who work on the devices to be able to work in absolute safety.
How many insulation classes are there?
The insulation classes would be 5, but we exclude the Class 0 and 0I from our document, because for many years now the appliances of these classes are no longer manufactured and have been eliminated by international standardization. However, in some countries, they are still present in some old installations.
The EN 60335-1 and EN 60730-1 standards
For the drafting of our attached #whitepaper, we made reference to the EN 60335-1 and EN 60730-1 standards.
