Due to the Covid-19 pandemic that has affected the world in recent months, a word has become increasingly redundant in the world of work, especially for companies: adaptability.
The corporate system has been affected, in recent years, by multiple changes, especially technological ones: databases, emails, smartphones, conference calls, social networks…
But the strong point seemed to be having a workstation where you can go every day, to the offices or to the production area.
Adaptability as a response to changes
As we have already seen in this article, smart working was the first move to deal with the impossibility of going to the workplace, without sacrificing the productivity of a company. As well as the adoption of cloud for remote document sharing, or the choice of platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams or GoToMeeting to organize business meetings (or even just share the coffee break with colleagues) and to continue training courses or webinars.
Other companies have instead improved their web services, enhancing online orders, e-commerce or sales through existing platforms.
Corporate security measures taken against Covid
However, making their offices accessible in the shortest possible time has been a priority for many companies: the production, verification, control or retrieval of materials are still linked to the physical status of the company.
In Fandis, for example, we have sanitized all the environments, provided devices such as gloves, masks, disinfectant, to all entrances, in addition to measuring body temperature, and guaranteed a correct distancing between the stations, for the production area and distribution, and we’re alternating presence with smart working for the office area.
Continuity of information
During the lockdown, insecurity was palpable. For companies it was essential to give quick answers to customers and suppliers, informing the public about closures, precautions taken, delivery times, availability of materials. In the balance of a day, even these small securities could make a difference, from a human point of view.
For this reason, many companies, including Fandis, have communicated in a timely manner via social networks and mailing lists, with the shortest possible response time on all available communication channels.
This allowed us to obtain more fluid processes at the time of reopening, guaranteeing deliveries and orders on schedule and leaving quickly.
Supply to companies involved in the emergency
During the lockdown, all the adaptability strategies implemented allowed Fandis to continue supplying companies involved in the emergency, such as hospitals, medical equipment manufacturers, manufacturers of masks, gloves and disinfectants, always in accordance with Italian governmental decrees.
Adaptability has therefore become the real resource in the face of changing situations, capable of making a company seize multiple opportunities even in times of crisis, to grow and support the economy of the production chain.
