Hose-proof protection hoods are accessories that allow greater protection of the electrical panel, especially in the event of extreme weather conditions, for outdoor applications, when sanitizing systems using water jets, or for greater coverage from shocks or in heavily contaminated industrial contexts.
In fact, when designing or setting up an electrical panel, it is important that it is assembled in compliance with the electrical safety requirements, but also that an adequate degree of protection is guaranteed for the surrounding environment to safeguard the functioning of the internal components. Depending on the specific installation conditions, the degree of protection required by the casing and the accessories mounted externally may vary.
When to install the hose-proof protection hoods?
In the case of an electrical cabinet ventilated through a filter fan unit, it is advisable to use covers to protect it from extreme situations of use or that could cause damage to components. The cover, in fact, applied above the filter fan or the exhaust unit, allows to maximise the degree of protection, increasing the protection class to IP56. The protection hood can then be easily removed for cleaning or for replacing the filter mat mounted on the filter fan unit or on the exhaust filter, thanks to the practical slide coupling system.
