What is MEMA?
MEMA is the Master in Mechatronics & Management of LIUC Business School, the management school of the Carlo Cattaneo University of Castellanza (VA).
Fandis and MEMA
Fandis sponsored the eighth edition of this course, together with other leading companies such as Everis,Ferrero, Festo Italia, Hydac, KUKA, SEW-EURODRIVE, concluding this partnership with the inclusion in our R&D team of a young graduate, Marco Affuso.
This Master in Mechatronics & Management was created to respond to the professional needs of the Industry 4.0 and Digital Automation era, to allow students to develop the most appropriate skills for the new challenges and needs of companies.
LIUC Business School selects a limited number of students for each edition, based on curricular, aptitude and motivational indicators. The sponsoring companies of the master operate in various sectors (but with a common propensity for innovation and continuous improvement) and offer students concrete projects on which to measure themselves, gain direct experience, make themselves known and seize employment opportunities.
The eighth edition
On January 12, 2021, with the presentation of the students’ papers, developed during company internships, the most complex edition ever, which seriously tested both students and companies, ended. A few days after the start of the internship activities, in fact, we faced the first restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic and the placement of students coincided with a profound change in the same environment in which we wanted them to be integrated.
Despite these operational difficulties, students and companies all showed up for the final appointment, achieving the set objectives. On some occasions, satisfaction with the results achieved has generated the opportunity for the trainee to be included in the staff where they worked, as was the case with Fandis who introduced Marco Affuso to the R&D department.
Shared values and transversal skills
We are increasingly convinced that the professional profiles essential to the creation of value in the era of the fourth industrial revolution and digitalization require transversal skills, ranging from different technologies and areas of activity.
Complex organizations and SMEs need young graduates in technical disciplines, but able to combine skills in the mechanical, electronic, management or energy fields with adequate preparation for integration into organizations.
Companies, in turn, must guarantee an environment where these young people of value can become aware of their potential and express it to the fullest.
The next edition of MEMA
The next edition of MEMA is scheduled for February 2021. Good luck to the new students!
