Wall or roof cooling units, thermoelectric units, air-to-air and air-to-air heat exchangers: this is the Fandis Bordos series, designed specifically for electrical enclosures.
Decrease the temperature inside the electrical cabinets: why?
Thermal stress and excess of humidity are among the main causes of malfunctioning of electrical and electronic equipment, so it’s vital to implement adequate control and cooling systems: depending on the environment in which the electrical cabinet is located, it will be more appropriate choose a cooling unit instead of an heat exchanger … and vice versa! That’s why we have thought of the Bordos line: to respond to all the requirements of ventilation and dehumidification of an electrical cabinet.
Bordos TCU series thermoelectric units
The TCU series thermoelectric units are based on the principle of the Peltier heat pumps and are an effective solution for the ventilation of small electrical cabinets. What makes a thermoelectric unit special? In a thermoelectric unit there are no moving mechanical parts (except the fan, when present) and therefore they are very reliable, enjoy almost unlimited lifetime and no maintenance. Their “static” makes them insensitive to vibration, allowing the operation in any position, thus making them the most appropriate choice for applications on moving systems, even in difficult situations. A thermoelectric unit also does not contain any substance that can damage the environment, such as CFC or other gases, and has a much simpler and more compact structure than a classic compressor system. Bordos thermoelectric units are available in CC and CA versions, corrosion resistant stainless steel.
But thermoelectric units are not the only cooling system fo the electrical cabinet! We are renewing our Bordos range, but in the meantime, you may be interested in …
Wall or roof cooling units
Wall or roof cooling units are the ideal cooling solution for applications where the internal temperature must be controlled by separating the control cabinet from the surrounding environment. The cooling unit also dehumidifies the interior environment, prolonging the average life of the electrical components housed. Thanks to the setting of the internal thermostat at 35°C, cooling units ensure safe use in all environmental and operational conditions without any risk of condensation. Not having air filters also require low maintenance.
Air-to-air exchanger
Air-to-air heat exchangers find their ideal use in cooling electric enclosures when the room temperature is lower than the desired one within the enclosure (passive solution). Air-to-air heat exchangers use two separate air circuits, one inside and one outside, so that the indoor and outdoor environments never come in contact: an internal fan conveys hot air on the heat sink and an external air expel it into the room. Their advantage is low power consumption and being a great alternative to fan filters, in case of difficult conditions.
Air-to-water heat exchangers
Air-to-water heat exchangers are among the ideal solution for cooling the panel in applications with highly polluted environments, as fully sealed, and when the outside temperature is higher than the ideal one inside. Air-to-water heat exchangers work with the same principle as air-to-air heat exchangers, with the only difference that the outside air is replaced by cold water, normally already available through a water system. Through this fluids exchange, a considerable amount of heat can be extracted.
Thermoelectric or compressor cooling unit?
A cooling units is what suits for you, but you are unsure whether to choose between a TCU series thermoelectric unit and a compressor cooling unit for your enclosure? We have compared these two systems below for you to make your choice easier.
