The use of a chiller has become an efficient liquid cooling solution to remove process heat from industrial cycles and machinery.
But what is a chiller?
The so-called chiller is a refrigerating group, used in the process industry and in industrial thermoregulation applications above all, whose goal is to significantly lower the temperatures of a fluid, respecting precise and reliable conditions.
How is a fan filter unit used in a chiller system?
To obtain maximum efficiency from a chiller conditioning system, the control panel must be adequately ventilated to ensure devices optimal operation inside the panel (drives, plc, contactors, etc.). Thanks to the fan filter, the fan introduces fresh (filtered) air into the indoor environment, helping a necessary air exchange. Since the chiller cooling system is frequently installed outdoors, the filter unit must also comply with dust and water protection criteria, being exposed to this danger of contact.
How are Fandis products used in a chiller system?
Fandis products can be used essentially in two ways: one more direct, through the use of air-water heat exchangers of our partner Seifert, and one indirect, with the FF fan filter units series in the IP54 or IP55 version.
In the first case, the exchanger is directly connected to the fluid cooled by the chiller which serves as a heat exchange media with the air present inside the electrical cabinet, while the fan filter units are used on the control panel of the chiller itself. Moreover, the use of the exchanger allows the air inside the panel to never come in contact with the outside air, useful in case of polluted or dusty environments.
