Choosing materials in the construction of an electric panel and especially its interior components is primary. Temperature, humidity, solar radiation, environmental agents, corrosive agents and electromagnetic sources are all factors that can compromise their proper functioning and life.
Here in Fandis we pay particular attention to the choice of materials and the construction aspects of ventilation and climate control components for enclosures, proposing a range of solutions with different finishes and materials which can better adapt to different working environments and able to counteract the risk factors.
Environment
In the case of outdoor applications, for example, exposure to UV rays and damaging effects of weathering can seriously affect the operation of the panel if the installed components do not guarantee an adequate degree of protection. Fandis FF Type 3R fan filters allow a proper ventilation and are designed to increase dust resistance, water penetration and ice formation. Their particular plastic composition, with a strong fiberglass charge, also makes them more durable against deterioration, even if exposed to direct sunlight.
Electromagnetic fields
In indoor installations, sometimes, it’s necessary to check if electromagnetic fields are present in near the control panel, the interference of which may affect the operation of the electrical equipment, from simple functional disturbance to total loss of functionality. It’s therefore appropriate, in the design phase, to take into account the electromagnetic compatibility of the electrical components to ensure their operational safety. Fandis EMC shielded fan filters ensure a correct climate control, reduce noise emissions and protect internal components from external sources of interference. They are designed to restore the protective effect of the enclosure walls in spite of the openings for the housing itself: the base of the filter is metallized and include also a metal grille, so as to create continuity with the electromagnetic barrier generated by the electrical cabinet walls.
Chemical agents
Another area of application of our products is the production lines in food & beverage industry, where it’s essential that the electrical panel and its equipment are made of stainless steel to allow the use of chemical agents during the plants sanitation. The stainless steel structure guarantees high standards of hygiene and corrosion resistance and can withstand frequent high pressure washings to remove all waste. Also in this case, Fandis offers solutions suitable for food chains: Peltier thermoelectric units and AISI 304 stainless steel cooling units or stainless steel covers to be mounted on filter units to preserve them from strong water jets.
Internal overheating
When the temperature inside the panel is too low or a high degree of humidity is recorded, for the correct operation of the components anti-condensing heaters are normally used to favor natural air circulation and uniform heating in the cabinet. However, these products have a heating element inside them which can reach high temperatures such as to cause burns in case of contact. The resistances developed by Fandis are also available in the touch proof plastic version, which, compared to the metal body models, guarantees a low thermal conductivity of the outer surface.
