Filters, fan filters, roof exhaust unit and protection hoods: today we present the Virdis series from Fandis, designed for electrical cabinets.
Why is it necessary to ventilate an enclosure?
When air conditioning an electrical panel, it’s easy to make mistakes or underestimate the problems. As we have seen many times, high temperature is one of the main enemies for enclosures: the heat generated by the electrical components running, in fact, causes an increase in temperature inside the panel. If this is summed up to external temperature fluctuations, it’s easy to imagine how the instruments inside the panel are subjected to a thermal stress that may alter their operation or reduce their life cycle. To solve this problem, the indoor temperature inside the panel must be controlled with an appropriate ventilation system.
Why do choose fan filters to ventilate sn enclosure?
Fandis fan filters and roof exhaust units are the most practical solution to favor hot air dissipation inside the electrical cabinet. Fan filters, in fact, channel inside cooler and filtered air by expelling warm internal air through exhaust filters or roof units. The generated airflow allows to maintain a homogeneous internal temperature and to protect the electronic components from overheating.
Virdis FF series fan filters
The Virdis FF series fan filters, besides perfectly ventilating the cabinet, does not require any tools for their installation, thanks to a clip mounting system for 1 to 3.7 mm thick plates, and allow a fast electrical connection, with a cage clamp free-tool wiring system. This fan filter is also available in IP55 and Type 3R versions for indoor and outdoor applications with harsh environmental conditions. The FF EMC series fan filters, on the other hand, offer adequate protection against the requirements of electromagnetic compatibility.
Virdis GF series fan filters
The GF series Virdis filter unit is characterized by an fastening system with jacks, which accomodate both plastic and plate enclosures with thick wall applications (up to 16 mm). This series offers the advantage of quick external installation without extra drilling and a quick filter replacement through the hinged protection guard.
Virdis TP series roof exhaust units
The TP series roof exhaust units are an effective alternative to traditional filter fan units when the electrical enclosure is installed in confined spaces. Heat extraction takes place directly from the top of the enclosure rather than from the sides, ensuring more efficient ventilation management.
The TP series features a plastic housing and can be combined with a filter to achieve natural or forced convection air cooling, in the fan-assisted version.
In addition to the alternating current (AC) version, the roof exhaust units are also available in direct current (DC) and EC versions, with a focus on improved energy efficiency.
DC models allow speed modulation according to actual cooling requirements, optimizing energy consumption.
EC models, on the other hand, ensure maximum efficiency through automatic regulation, adapting to the parameters detected by temperature sensors.
FPFA adapters for fan filters
How to increase space inside the cabinet without having to resize the fan and its power? The solution is the Fandis FPFA Adapter: a plastic frame that allows the fan assembly to be mounted in a semi-recessed position in the electrical cabinet, thus reducing its interior size.
Protection hoods for filter fan units
The MRH series protection hoods, used in combination with filter fan units and FF filters, provide a protection rating of up to IP56 / UL Type 4 and 4X, effectively protecting against dust, solid objects and high-pressure water jets, even in the most demanding environments.
Available in painted steel or AISI 304 stainless steel with FDA-approved gaskets, MRH hoods combine corrosion resistance and compliance with hygiene and sanitary regulations with a functional design, engineered for quick and easy installation.
